No words.

If there were words, they'd be good. But there are none. There are no words amazing enough to describe Nightwish.

By what can only be called direct divine intervention, I was able to go to the concert. Time and time again, my luck was tested, and time and time again, I succeeded where the odds were stacked immeasurably against me.

I finally got to The Palladium around 6:00PM. John Awesome, my ride, had VIP tickets so he and his daughter went on ahead. I waited, and conversed with the three European guys behind me. They were quite a lively bunch, and made the line much more bearable.

So the five of us went in together(we were joined by another of their friends whilst waiting) and stood in the back section, near the bar. This worked well for my new acquaintances who wanted beer, and for me who didn't want to mosh, especially with water being sprayed around(this later turned out to be a mistake, as Emppu was throwing out guitar picks like they had AIDS on them and Tuomas threw a water bottle he drank out of).

Anyhow, Nightwish was led in by a band called Sonata Arctica, whom I had never heard of before but played quite well. Worcester was treated to the third live performance of "White Pearl Something Something" ever, which was cool. Great song, too.

So the energy in the room was quite high by the time Nightwish came out. By then I had bought one of every kind of item Nightwish was selling; a flaming pendulum shirt, a guillotine shirt, a Seven Days to the Wolves flag, a band flag, and a pendulum flag.

After Nightwish's main performance ended, it took a good 10 minutes of screaming to get them to do their encore. I think one of them must've tripped or something. Oh well. It was still awesome.

When all was said and done, I waited outside to get a glimpse of the band as they loaded into their tour bus. And man-o-man, I got way more than a glimpse. Most of the band members went right into the tour bus, but Tuomas stayed out for the fans.

1. Tuomas shook my hand.
2. Tuomas signed my pendulum flag, using ME as a surface.
4. And as I left, he says to me, he says, "Take care, Chris." He must've heard John Awesome say my name. And sure, it's just a stock phrase; of little meaning to most. And by itself, it would be to me as well. But on top of everything else, it meant something. Oh yes.

Well, enough with the vaguely-creepy point #4. All-in-all, I'm feeling really great now, and that's what matters, right? Go to a concert, feel awesome. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
