It's Banned Books Week! Hooray for the bestest of the best; books so awesome they make the feeble-minded swoon in their wake and leaves the aforementioned feeble-minded with no recourse but to ban them, lest their tiny little brains explode within their thick little skulls. I intend to purchase a copy of "The Color Purple", for I have heard good things about it.

Anyhow, I have snagged a copy of the top 100 banned books list. Apparently, it is stylish to bold the ones which have been read by the poster, in this case me.

So here we go! )

And now, for something that will bring a smile to the heart of every banned-books enthusiast: Several of these books were read by me as a requirement for high school English classes. And lo, they were the ones I enjoyed the most.

Edit: Too bad "The Power of the Rellard" didn't make the list. I could make a pretty compelling argument as to why idiots might ban it, but alas. It remains unbanned, and so it is not for sale at the Co-Op. Le sigh.
