So, I was at the mall this evening, right? And, while on an expedition away from the depths of Digital Mayhem along with Kimi and Bearded Chris, wait, this sentence is going to be run-on.
So, first we were just talking in Digital Mayhem, random stuff. The arrival of Bearded Chris brought up the subject of fuzzy things. So I suggested we go to the et store to look at the pets.
There's some irony here.
So, the Four Seasons is right next to the pet store. We went in there as well, to see if they had any chocolate Pocky. They didn't. Then we checked to see if there were any new swords, daggers or the like to ogle. There weren't. During this process, I noticed that I coul buy a short stalk of bamboo for $0.99. So I did. The shop-man wrapped it in some paper, put the wrapped part in a little plastic baggie, then the whole thing in a regular FS bag.
Now, being the totally insane person I am, I immediately stated to contemplate a name. Meanwhile, we went to the dollar store to find a container. For the bamboo. Kimi suggested a champagne glass, which I thought was a good idea. Because you see, bamboo grows like young people, not old people. Up, not out.
So, that cost a second dollar. And so, I unwraped the bamboo from its womblike, protective paper and plastic. And placed it in the champagne glass. There was no water at this point, but that's no worse than when it was in the paper.
So, I then quested to find some rocks to stabalize the bamboo. Then I would add water. First, we ventured to the pet store. They didn't have rocks. They don't sell fish anymore. Kimi suggested we go to Sears. Apparantly, they have a garden section. But not in the winter. So, no go.
We then went to get some food. I thought I could seek advice from the people there. Whilst Kimi and the beared one waited in line, I sought out the aid of those I found.
I first came across a wise, blue-haired young man. The blue-haired one suggested what I already tried. He also suggested the dollar store. I didn't notice any rocks while purchasing the champagne glass, but it might be worth a shot.
I then came upon a trio of dark-clad young men. They didn't have any bright ideas. It was clear they haven't ever owned bamboo before.
Anyhow, it was about that time the food was ready. So, we all sat down and talked about more random stuff. We then got back to the subject of a name for the bamboo. Kimi stated that, having six pieces of bamboo, she wouldn't name them all.
At this point, I stated that since I only have one piece of bamboo, I could easily name it.
There's a cartoon called Onepiece. The main character is named Luffy.
An thus, the naming of my pet bamboo.
AFTERMATH
I never did get those rocks. Fortunately, bamboo can live in just water. I bought a bottle of Poland Springs when I got back to DM. And thus, the $3 pet with no mess.
