So, I hung out with my sister and her friends, from which I just got back. We played Texas Hold 'em, $5 starting (which I borrowed from my sister, not having brought my own money). Started slow, 5 cent minimum ante, as I got the hang of the game. At first, it seemed like I would be out quickly. Then I got a straight, then a flush, both which had large pots. At that point, I was up to about $10, 20% of the entire amount on the table. Quite nice. I tried to stop there, but the others informed me that this would be frowned upon.

"Could I just 'take the money and run'?"
"That's how people get shot."

I figured they were jokeing, but I was a good sport and kept playing anyhow. I lost until I was down to $5.35, at which point we decided to end play. We rounded off the winnings, so I ended with my sister's $5, which I payed her. I didn't keep a good track of exactly who won what, but apparantly one other guy broke even, two guys lost $2, and my sister gained $4. My sister decided to give me $3 for some reason. Eh. I thanked her and took the money. So, all in all, it was a pretty good night. Some nice conversation and food to go along with the game. I'd put a closing statement here, but it's 2:29AM, and I can't think of one.
